Meet Isa

Isa's passion for ikebana blossomed at the age of 16 in India, where she first encountered an exquisite ikebana arrangement in a hotel lobby. Since that moment, she has been captivated by the art form's beauty and elegance. Isa dedicated a decade to studying Ikebana at both the Ikenobo school and the Ohara school. Following this, she delved deep into the Ohara School of Ikebana for an additional eighteen years, eventually achieving the prestigious degree of First Term Master from Japan.

Isa’s deep-rooted love for Ikebana and her unwavering passion for sharing its beauty have guided her to teach for nearly two decades, offering workshops at institutions like the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Canton Garden Center. She found great joy in nurturing young minds during her eight-year tenure teaching Ikebana at John Carroll University. Isa has remained active in the Ohara School of Ikebana as past president and board member of the Women’s Council at the Cleveland Museum of Art. She delights in giving demonstrations and spreading her enthusiasm for Ikebana to garden clubs and various organizations.

Isa’s interests extend beyond Ikebana, as she seeks inspiration from top designers worldwide at workshops organized by GCA, constantly evolving her craft. Additionally, Isa’s role as a floral judge has taken her to flower shows across the country, where her talent has earned her multiple awards. Apart from her floral pursuits, Isa has a passion for CrossFit and Yoga, where she is teacher-trained.
